Cannabis degrades the same way any botanical does: exposure to light, oxygen, and heat slowly breaks down its cannabinoids and terpenes. Stored badly, good flower goes harsh and weak in a couple of weeks. Stored well, it holds for months.
The short checklist
Use an airtight glass jar, not a plastic baggie — plastic holds static and degrades terpenes. Keep it cool and dark, away from windows and appliances that give off heat. Aim for 59–63% relative humidity; a small humidity pack in the jar does this automatically.
That is most of the game. Cool, dark, airtight, and a little humidity control will keep your stash tasting the way it did the day you bought it.
